A few weeks ago I attended my first ever press day as actual press. As press days go, it was a pretty spectacular one – not only did it mark the launch of Habitat’s A/W and Christmas collections, but it was also held in an amazing converted warehouse in Oxo Tower Wharf. The raw, industrial architecture provided the perfect backdrop for Habitat’s colourful, contemporary designs, and the large space allowed you to wander happily around the building leisurely taking everything in. And there was a lot to take in – far too much for the quick 20 minutes I spent there on my way to work!
One room that I did manage to spend a little time in was the textile room. I’m not sure if that was its official title, but it was basically just a room filled with the most gorgeous rugs. I love Habitat rugs, and could quite happily have stayed in there all day. Trust me when I say that there are some absolutely beauties coming our way in Autumn. I also found myself in the Christmas gift room which, shockingly, was filled with Christmas gifts. Now Habitat wouldn’t usually be my first port of call for Christmas presents, but its safe to say that by the time I left I had mentally picked out exactly which family member would be receiving what from the selection.
Rugs and Christmas gifts aside, above are a few of my other favourite pieces that are soon to be hitting Habitat stores. It was ridiculously hard to pick just a few bits to share, so surely that has to be the sign of a fantastic collection. We may now be on the wrong side of the summer months, but at least Habitat has given us something to look forward to come Autumn.
